Carpet Cleaning Techniques

Here are a few of the most common techniques Oregon Restoration uses to accomplish a clean that’s better than new:

1. Truck Mounted Steam Extraction : Recommended by carpet manufacturers and a favorite of most home owners, this high powered option provides grime emulsifying heat and incredible extraction capabilities. It’s ideal for light duty all the way up to restaurant cleaning.
2. Dry Solution Buffer & Bonnet : This application begins with a light moistening and emulsifying of the soiled fibers and is followed by a large buffer driven bonnet. The bonnet scrubs, cleans and wipes the carpet dry. The process is quiet, deep cleaning and offers a fast drying time and is perfect for medium to lightly soiled carpets.
3. Dual Process : As the name suggests, this is a combination of processes. The first step is a hot pre-spray from the truck mount, followed by the agitation of the buffer and finished off with steam extraction from the truck mount and another buffer pad for absorption. This is the deepest cleaning method of the three mentioned here, and offers the fastest drying time – in many cases several areas are dry by the time we’ve completed the job!

4. Move furniture (no charge)
5. Pre-spot (stains)
6. Pre-spray and Pre-scrub (to help agitate solution on stains as needed with focus on traffic patterns)
7. Truck Mount Steam Extraction or Bonnet and Buffer
8. DuPont Stain Guard (optional)
9. Post Groom (to stand fibers erect for appearance and longevity)
10. Replace furniture on blocks or plastic squares (to prevent rust or varnish stains)
11. Air mover to help dry
12. Post inspect
